       Hazardous Areas – Oil / Water Separator

       The new book gives a much  better visual representation of the hazardous areas around a oil / water separator.
       The area surrounding  the separator vent pipe opening has increased from a Zone 2 at 300mm radius to a Zone 1
       of 1m radius.  The areas within the access chamber, surrounding the chamber, and within the tank have been
       classified as shown below.

       Hazardous Areas – Spillages

       The new book has several additions, the first of which is the zones around a fuel spillage.  The area surrounding
       a spillage is classified as a Zone 2 hazardous area, the dimensions of which depend upon the size of the spill as
       shown in table 3.1 reproduced below.
