Hazardous Areas – Autogas Tanker Delivery
A new section of the standard deals with autogas. The zones around an autogas tanker during delivery are quite
different to those for a petrol tanker.
A Zone 2 hazardous area surrounds the pump which would normally be mounted on the delivery vehicle.
Surrounding the relief valve there is an additional Zone 2 of 0.5m (or 2.5m for a non-soft seat valve). A Zone 1
of 1.5m radius is applied to the ullage level indicator on the vehicle.
Hazardous Areas – Autogas Tanks
The hazardous zones around autogas tanks and filling points are another addition to the new guidance. Where
petrol tanks have 1m hazardous areas around the chambers, autogas has areas of 1.5m radius.
