Hazardous Areas – Petrol Tanks

The new zones for petrol tanks are shown below.

As can be seen the sizes of the zones around chamber covers has reduced (from 3-4m radius from centre to 1m
from edge of the chamber), however the classification has increased from a zone 2 to a zone 1. The
classification around an above-ground fill point has increased with the addition of a zone 1 within 1m of the fill
point.
