Incident Trends
Last week we logged our 2000’th hazard spot/potential
incident / near miss; these allow us to proactively
identify trends based on a significant number of real-
world data points.
Our monthly health and safety meeting minutes (which
are distributed to all employees and selected clients),
always includes detailed analysis of the incidents,
where we try to identify trends so that they can be
mitigated before they become an accident statistic.
Incident Nature - Not surprisingly for a sign installation company, most of the incidents we identify
are relating to the work we carry out, dangerous signs (13.2%) or dangerous electrical supplies (15%).
However a significant number 7.7% relate to the sites emergency procedures or evacuation routes, and
8.0% to trip hazards on site.
Organisation – The
change in the

incident has shown a
significant shift, with
over 50% of incidents
in 2014 being
attributable to the site.
