Fireworks
Following an incident this month where a
firework was fired and hit our van whilst the
vehicle was being driven though South
London, we would like to remind you to be
wary of fireworks during this time of the year.
This is the second firework related incident
we have recorded, the previous being the
discovery of fireworks on site next to the vent
pipes.
Never give fireworks to children and never
transport fireworks in company vehicles.
If you discover a lit or partially spent firework
on site, do not approach it. Notify the site
manager and your line manager.
In the latest available UK statistics (2005), 990 people were injured by fireworks in the year, 247 of these injuries
occurred in the street or other public place.
ROSPA Firework Code

6. Never return to a firework once it has been lit
7. Don't put fireworks in pockets and never throw them
8. Direct any rocket fireworks well away from spectators
9. Never use paraffin or petrol on a bonfire
10. Make sure that the fire is out and surroundings are made safe before leaving.
