Hand Injury

Please see enclosed safety alert regarding a hand injury that occurred to a third party contractor shared
with us by ExxonMobil.

This incident shows the importance of following the JSA/JHA/Safe system of work and wearing the correct PPE
for the task. If you are using chemicals, always ensure you have a COSHH statement for the chemical and that
you read and follow the controls documented.

If you are unclear why a step is necessary on a JSA, you should discuss it with you line manager, do not
just skip it thinking it is not needed or is too time consuming. We are happy to review the processes if
you feel a procedure needs changing and all feedback on JSA’s is taken into account.

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works for
us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
