Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 456

                                                   26 March 2015

                                                 Fall From Ladder

Please see enclosed safety alert regarding a fall from a ladder that was shared with us by Exxon-Mobil.

Ian Kidger, Regional Safety and Risk Advisor, Esso Petroleum Company Ltd stated:
“We are continuing to see high potential risks turning into serious incidents as the attached bulletin highlights.

There is a very simple message here “when working at height make sure you are 100% protected from a fall”.
Respecting the risks and never tolerating inadequate working conditions is our challenge. This is a challenge for
           us all:
                 · Managers to provide safe working methods, safe equipment, with trained and competent people.
                 · Supervisors to instruct, coach and guide people to avoid short cuts and provide JSA’s for safe working
                    at all times,
                 · Mindful workers who step back and simply stop work when the risk are inadequately controlled.
How will your team protect themselves tomorrow?”

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works for
us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
