Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 458

                                                     9 April 2015

                                                        Fatigue

Please see enclosed safety bulletin regarding fatigue that was shared with us by ExxonMobil.

Driving is one of the most dangerous activities carried out, and the latest Department for Transport statistics show
that 68 fatalities were caused or contributed by fatigue in the UK in 2013. A total of 1751 road traffic accidents
attended by police were attributed to fatigue.

We plan jobs so that crews are not required to drive excessive miles or durations during the day and have
sufficient time to sleep between work days. Always share the driving and if you feel drowsy pull over at the next
safe place (not a motorway hard shoulder) and swap drivers or take a short break.

If you are taking medication that can cause drowsiness, or have any medical condition that could affect your
concentration or driving ability, contact your line manager.

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works for
us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
