Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 244
S Martin – 5 May 2011
Fatal Road Traffic Accident
Please see enclosed self explanatory safety bulletin received from Artelia.
Driving to site is one of the most dangerous activities we carry out. Due to this the type
and condition of the vehicle used is one of the most crucial safety issues.
In order to ensure your vehicle is in safe condition, always carry out a visual inspection
before driving it. A more though inspection should be carried out every week, where a
F14.6.1 "Vehicle Safety Check Form" should be completed.
If you find anything wrong, contact the office - do not drive a faulty or unsafe vehicle.
All Xmo vehicles have either 2 or 3 seats that are purpose made with seatbelts. Never
allow anybody to ride in the vehicle unless they are in a seat and have their seatbelt
securely fastened.
Risk management is a big step towards accident prevention; however, it is dependent on the risk firstly
being identified, then controlled. We need safety awareness to be instinctive and form an integral part
of both our working and home lives; it is this, in turn, that may save the lives of others. Remember: if
shared, risks can be mitigated before they pose a threat.
If you have any queries regarding the Safety Bulletin content or require further information please
