Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 341

                                                  31 January 2013

                                              Smoking on Forecourt

Please see enclosed two self-explanatory bulletins that were shared with us by Johnson Controls.

Smoking on any forecourt is strictly forbidden and signs are posted at every pump clearly detailing this,
despite this we regularly get Potential Incidents reports (7 reports in 2012) where site patrons are
           smoking on site.

With all the training we receive relating to hazards on petrol forecourts, it is almost unbelievable that
any site operative would even consider smoking a cigarette that endangers the lives of everyone on or
in the vicinity of the site.

If you need to smoke, ensure you walk well away from the site boundary before doing so, anybody
found smoking on site is in breach of both ours and our client’s site rules and could face serious
           disciplinary action.

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything
we do has been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and
charts, some through visual presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we
receive information in a format that works for us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of
communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters, videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for
us to share health and safety information, please let us know. Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we
will do all we can to keep you well informed!
