Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 315

                                                   9 August 2012

                                                   Electric Shock

Please see enclosed self-explanatory bulletin that was shared with us by Johnson Controls.

When working on existing installations, it is not uncommon to find electrical joints or cabling that do
not meet approved standards. When removing or performing maintenance on existing signage always
carry out a LMRA and check the area for electrical cables before touching anything.

Any cables found should be assumed to be live until you have confirmed that they are isolated and dead
           - don't just assume a cable you find is ok just because it is currently dead, it could become live at any
time unless it is isolated (LOTO).

If you find electrical work that is not safe, ensure you report it as a Potential Incident.

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything
we do has been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and
charts, some through visual presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we
receive information in a format that works for us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of
communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters, videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for
us to share health and safety information, please let us know. Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we
will do all we can to keep you well informed!
