Driving
Driving is one of the most hazardous activities we undertake, and since 2006 we have recorded 125
incidents (59 Potential Incidents, 49 Near-Misses, 16 Property Damage, 1 First Aid) relating to this
activity.
Driving is the highest cause of Near Misses at 18%, and 28% of all Property Damage.
Because of this we have implemented several driving schemes to control the risk, including several
training courses, vehicle tracking, and medical/drug/license checks.
Since implementing a driver performance tracking system in 2015, and providing feedback to drivers,
the number of potentially unsafe events that the system tracks has substantially dropped, from 2.43
events per hour to 0.89 events per hour.
