Incident Trends
We have now logged over 2500 hazard spot / potential incident / near misses. Each of these incidents is
recorded into our Information Management System (Xmoman) and a comprehensive analysis of the
cause and categories are documented. This enables us to identify trends based on real-world data. This
data is distributed to employees and selected clients each month as part of our health and safety steering
meeting minutes.
During the monthly steering meetings we identify trends in the data so that we can pro-actively target
safety bulletins, TBT’s and management time.
Mitigating hazards - We encourage our crews to try to remove the identified hazard at the time of
discovery where practical.
We continue to eliminate 40% of all the incidents at the time of discovery, meaning 1048 site hazards
have been completely removed and made safe since we implemented this policy in 2004. A further 288
hazards have been made safe after the initial discovery, or controlled to reduce the risk.
