Winter Driving

During last year’s health and safety week we arranged practical hands-on driver training sessions so
drivers could experience and learn the techniques used to control skids and breaking. The feedback we
received was very positive and everybody enjoyed themselves whilst learning to control one of the
highest risk activities we carry out.

The attached bulletins highlight some of the guidance given on the day, as well as more details of how
to prepare your vehicle for winter driving.

According to the latest Department of Transport statistics, in 2015 there 2.2% more traffic on the road
compared to 2014, but road casualties increased by 3%. There were 1780 road deaths and 188,830
casualties in the 12 months up to Sept 2015.

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works for
us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
