Live Site Works

Most of the sites we work on are 'live' - they are open for business and have members of
the public driving on and off site. Frequently the public do unexpected or illogical
things, including attempting to enter barriered off work areas.
When planning out your work area you need to take into account the fact the site is live.
Barriers should be placed to completely enclose the work area, the vehicle should be
used to protect against traffic entering the site.

Risk management is a big step towards accident prevention; however, it is dependent on the risk firstly
being identified, then controlled. We need safety awareness to be instinctive and form an integral part
of both our working and home lives; it is this, in turn, that may save the lives of others. Remember: if
shared, risks can be mitigated before they pose a threat.
