Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 169
S Martin – 24 December 2009
Work At Height
Please see enclosed hierarchy of control measures for work at height from Coteba /
Shell.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of our work, work at height can rarely be completely
eliminated. However it can be reduced by planning the work, carrying out preparation at
ground level, or maybe removing the component and carrying out the work at ground
level before reinstalling.
The types of access platform detailed in the report are all available or made available as
necessary for each specific site. If you feel the type of access equipment on your job is
not the correct type, contact your supervisor.
Our individual safety is not solely in our hands, we have to rely on those around us to steer us away
from danger and warn us of potential hazards. We need safety awareness to be instinctive and form an
integral part of our working lives; it is this, in turn, that may save the lives of others.
If you have any queries regarding the Safety Bulletin content or require further information please
contact any staff member of Xmo Strata Ltd.
