LOTO TAG
Following the Lock Out Tag Out training session at our
December Safety Awareness Day, and the LOTO checklist
issued, we are now introducing LOTO tags for use on sites
where the neutral and live have been disconnected at the
main site distribution board by one of our qualified
electricians.
This tag gives a visual confirmation that the circuit has been
isolated and warns any third party electrician attending site
that the circuit has been deliberately disconnected for work
to be carried out.
Where we are working on electrical components, and the
circuit has not been isolated and tagged, it is critical that the
breaker is locked-off using the padlocks provided; if this
isn’t possible, you should follow the risk control hierarchy
on the LOTO checklist that has been issued to you (more are available from your
supervisor if required).
This tag will be used by qualified electricians ONLY where the power has been de-
energised.
Please remember that electricity kills and it is your responsibility to make sure that
the LOTO procedure is followed before working on any signware or lighting job.
