             •  Always use safer alternatives  to knives where ever possible e.g. snips.

             •  Never put your hand underneath what you intend to cut.

             •  Supervisors  need  to  ensure  anyone  using  a  knife has the right tool for the task and
                understands correct cutting techniques.

             •  Gloves should be appropriate for cutting tasks  – not general purpose.

             •   If in doubt speak to your supervisor.  Don’t take a chance and think this won’t happen
                to you.




         Being safe depends on the choices we make everyday.  The right choices can save lives.  We want to
         share safety information and help to raise industry awareness.  Safety is not about getting one over on
         the competition.  We need to talk openly, share what we know and make the right choices.
