Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 353

                                                    25 April 2013

                                 Aecom Global Alliance HSSE Newsletter

Please see enclosed a self-explanatory newsletter that was shared with us by Aecom.

At our company Health & Safety Awareness Day in January, we canvassed our employees opinions on
our communication and message delivery using anonymous polling handsets and have modified our
safety communications to reflect the findings, which support Aecom’s move to video format.

Each of us has different learning styles, and some learn easier through the use of audio/visual senses. It
is becoming more common therefore to see information being provided in video format, as well as in
more traditional narrative and we applaud and wholeheartedly support any initiative that helps people
           understand safety messages more.

We try to present important information in different ways to appeal to as wide an audience as we can -
through toolbox talks, our health and safety days (including competitions, quizzes and games), health
and safety bulletins (with detailed technical information) and newsletters (written in a less formal and
           more relaxed style).

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything
we do has been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and
charts, some through visual presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we
receive information in a format that works for us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of
communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters, videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for
us to share health and safety information, please let us know. Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we
will do all we can to keep you well informed!
