Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 334

                                                13 December 2012

                                                     Hand Injury

Please see enclosed self-explanatory bulletin that was shared with us by ABB.

This again reminds us of the need to always wear gloves, no matter what the task or what site you are
           on.

Although we have had very few injuries since we engaged glove suppliers at our safety day and
produced a glove ratings checklist, hand and finger injuries account for 48% of the total, and this is the
fifth bulletin this year we have issued detailing hand injuries.

All our JSAs identify the minimum rating of the gloves to be worn for each task. If you have concerns
or disagree with any rating on the JSAs, or require a new gloves please let your line manager know.

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything
we do has been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and
charts, some through visual presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we
receive information in a format that works for us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of
communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters, videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for
us to share health and safety information, please let us know. Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we
will do all we can to keep you well informed!
