Driver licence verification for Xmo Strata
Did you know that more than five drivers in every 1,000 are actually driving illegally?
This may not seem like many, but if you or your family were injured at the hands of one of these
drivers you may soon change your opinion!
In the interests of reducing work related road safety risks – and to ensure that we remain compliant
with current legislation, in particular with the Road Traffic Act 1998 and the Health & Safety at Work
Guidelines – we will be commissioning regular checks on all driving licences of employees who drive
on behalf of the company.
Our reporting system, which will be managed by an independent organisation that has operated with
the DVLA for more than eight years, will compile regular reports which detail:
• The driver’s name and licence number (with the final three digits removed for security
purposes)
• Categories of the licence held and information codes
• Disqualified, revoked or provisional drivers
• Any current endorsements, offence or conviction dates
• Non-compliant drivers (which will detail any consent forms not returned for processing)
• Recheck due date
• Licence expiry dates
• Expiry dates for any HGV/PCV licence holders
• Expiry dates for photo card licence holders
All company drivers will receive a consent form which should be completed and returned. In the
event of a driver leaving the company, or ceasing to drive on behalf of the company, the periodic
checks will end.
By having this system in place, we are ensuring a more robust procedure which is designed to protect
both ourselves and our customers.
We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything
we do has been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and
charts, some through visual presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we
receive information in a format that works for us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of
communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters, videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for
us to share health and safety information, please let us know. Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we
will do all we can to keep you well informed!
