Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 294

                                                   22 March 2012

                                    LOTO Toolbox Talk Support Video

We all learn in different ways, some are better at taking in written information, others prefer verbal or
pictorial. By providing information in a variety of formats, we can reach the widest audience and hope
to keep the information fresh in everybody's minds.

At the 2011 Xmo Strata Safety Awareness Day we asked all participants to work in teams to identify
which topics they felt should be covered in a video toolbox talk pertinent to the risks they face. This is
the first of three videos that will be released this year following that feedback.

LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) is an activity that affects most crews attending site, and this video is aimed
at trades who may need to work on equipment that could lead to contact with a potentially hazard
           energy source.

The four and a half minute video can be seen at http://www.xmostrata.com/videos/toolbox_lockout.php,
please take the time to watch it. Our Field services Managers will be showing the video as part of a
toolbox talk to all site operatives, and gathering feedback. If you have any questions, please discuss
them as part of the toolbox talk session or contact your line manager.

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything
we do has been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and
charts, some through visual presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we
receive information in a format that works for us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of
communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters, videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for
us to share health and safety information, please let us know. Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we
will do all we can to keep you well informed!
