-  Within  Construction,  Randstad  (2017)  found  that  more  than  one  third  (34%)  of  construction
                  workers had experienced a mental health condition in the last year.
               -  The  report  also  found  that  one  fifth  of  respondents  have  increased  their  alcohol  and tobacco
                  intake as a stress reliever, increasing the potential for further health risks.
               -  Between 2011 and 2015, the Office for National Statistics revealed that the “number of suicides
                  among those working in construction trades was the highest of any profession” – with more than
                  1400 construction workers ending their lives in this period.

           In  order  to  reduce  stigma  associated  with  Mental  Health  we  are  working  to  support  campaigns  and
           promote the message #start the conversation. As mentioned in Bulletin 639 we joined Mates in Mind
           earlier this year and shared details of our Employee Assistance Helpline which has been available to
           employees for the last 5 years.
