Our employees are our biggest asset, so we want to ensure that none are ever hurt and the way to do that
is to actively look for hazards whilst doing your job, address any that you are able to make safe and
report the others. This approach adds value to our clients and may prevent one of their site patrons from
being injured and potentially suing them for compensation.
Every incident reported to us is investigated and the findings have led us to make a number of
procedural changes and improvements to our safe systems of work (JSA’s/JHA’s and SMS’), which
make our workplace safer and our business stronger.
So, to clarify, we do want continual vigilance and hazard spotting, more hazards made safe at the time
of discovery and we strongly believe that if we do this, it will prevent injuries to us or others.
If you do witness or are involved in a near miss, first aid incident or worse, we don’t ever want that to
be hidden; if you don’t tell us, we can’t learn from it and improve our procedures and controls.
We work on sites for some excellent clients and principal contractors but it’s worth always
remembering that “Not everyone can be in charge, but everyone can be a safety leader”.
We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works for
us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
