Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 478

                                                   27 August 2015

                                           Looking After Your Hands

Please see enclosed safety bulletin regarding looking after your hands that was kindly shared with us.

The latest HSE statistics show that 13560 hand/finger injuries occurred in 2013/14, 4762 of which were
major injures. Another 5164 injuries occurred to wrists.

All Xmo JSA’s detail the EN388 rating of the gloves to be worn for each step; always read through the JSA and
ensure you have suitable gloves for each element of the job, even if that means using two or three different gloves
as the risk changes during the job.

If you are unclear on the requirements of the JSA’s, require additional PPE, or have any suggestions regarding
these procedures please contact your line manager.

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works for
us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
