Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 473
23 July 2015
Summer Exposures
Please see enclosed safety alert regarding Summer exposures that was shared with us by ExxonMobil,
which reinforce the bulletins that we have previously shared that relate to sun safety.
At the time of writing, the forecast for the next month is lower than we have been experiencing and the
rainfall is higher, however the weather is notoriously difficult to predict and sunny periods may still be
experienced.
During recent management audits we have been discussing the sun and heat at site level and are pleased
that the teams involved have considered these hazards and have detailed precautions they have taken on
their clearance certificates.
Exposure to the sun is a major cause of skin cancer, so always ensure you wear long sleeved tops, use
plenty of high rated sun block and ensure that you drink plenty of water.
We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works for
us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
