Training
Please see enclosed self explanatory safety alert issued by Balfour Beatty and forwarded
to us by Artelia UK.
Although we do not carry out any sheet piling or similar operations, this alert highlights
the need to use competent trained persons to carry out all works and to ensure that
manufacturer’s instructions on the use of plant are always followed.
It is Xmo Strata's policy that all crews are trained in the use of any equipment they are
likely to encounter, e.g. relevant IPAF(s), PASMA, Harness, and NPORS. If you feel
you have not yet attended a course or had suitable training for any of the plant you use,
or you have not got instructions on its use, contact your supervisor.
Risk management is a big step towards accident prevention; however, it is dependent on the risk firstly
being identified, then controlled. We need safety awareness to be instinctive and form an integral part
of both our working and home lives; it is this, in turn, that may save the lives of others. Remember: if
shared, risks can be mitigated before they pose a threat.
