Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 355

                                                    02 May 2013

                                           Environmental Initiatives

As part of our Corporate & Social Responsibility to the environment we set objectives to improve our
environmental performance in four areas and this bulletin is to share with all our teams what we have achieved
and thank everyone who participated and made these successful:

Recycling Traceability of Waste Product From Site

           What is it?

Complete traceability of all waste products from January 2012, including records of the material taken, the
carrier, their license number, the destination and license number of the ultimate recycling destination, providing
an accurate report on how much material was recycled, and how much sent to landfill.

How was it implemented and developed?

The project itself began in January 2012. From then to December 2012, we recycled 520 tons of waste, with
only 4% of the waste removed from sites going to landfill. The project is built into the XmoMan project
management software at the heart of the company’s operations, meaning that we can identify any jobs where we
expect waste to be recycled and it isn’t. The next phase will be to estimate waste expectation from historic data
           and forecast expectation.

           Monitoring of Carbon Footprint

           What is it?

We set an objective to measure our carbon footprint and publish our carbon emissions in our monthly
management meeting minutes. The measurement is detailed enough to provide the tools for specific tactical
management in support of the strategic objective (e.g. individual fuel usage-per-van, allowing mileage to be
reviewed in discussion with the crew so that reductions can be implemented where possible).

How was it implemented and developed?

The initial study was carried out in May 2007, with the first estimated carbon footprint included in our July 2007
H&S Meeting minutes, the reporting procedures were automated and incorporated into our management system
           in 2008.

Our initial task was to review all official guidance, and create a model based on the GHG Protocol published by
the World Resources Institute. A survey of the company’s activities was carried out and areas of significant
carbon emission identified. Historical records of electrical and gas meter readings were used, along with
mileage records of our fleet of vehicles in order to generate the basis for the report. Further surveys of staff’s
commuting arrangements and business travel were carried out to ensure emissions due to office staff travel
           were not missed.

The method of calculating the most significant element of the carbon footprint (van fleet fuel which accounts for
over 80% of emissions) was automated and incorporated into our Xmoman management system which allows a
full breakdown of emissions so we can identify individual van emissions each month. We have also fitted
sensors in our office building so that they only switch on when movement is sensed and fitted lower energy light
           fittings.
