Business Continuity Planning
Have you ever considered what happens to our customers if the office burnt down?
Maybe you wouldn’t care? - BUT have you ever thought how your wages would be paid if the same thing
happened?
Firstly all of our data, including XmoMan, which incorporates all job history and more than 300,000 site and job
photos, Sage Accounts and Payroll is backed up (off site) daily and the new technology that we are rolling out to
all site operatives will compliment this. We have a business continuity plan in place that provides us with
emergency alternative premises, complete with meeting rooms, reception facilities, dedicated workstations,
copier and secretarial services and we are guaranteed that this will be up and running within 48 hours of a
disaster occurring, including reinstating e-mails and redirecting telephone lines.
Section 4.1.1 of our H&S manual, which is directly accessible via the electronic tablet devices that we are rolling
out details our plans in response to:-
• a disaster (loss of business premises);
• significant disruption to travel infrastructure (fuel shortages, blockades, major sporting events, significant
weather disruption);
• loss of communications links (loss of telephone / mobile phone and / or internet communication);
• a significant risk to human health;
• a significant risk of violence; or
• a significant risk to the environment.
The plan describes the action taken by key personnel in the event of business disruption and includes recovery
plans and responses where appropriate.
Our insurers have advised that very few businesses assess risk in this way; most have no disaster recovery plan
in place and this, along with our excellent claim history has resulted in us being classified as a category A risk
(the best in a scale of A – G) and ensures that our premiums are as low as they can be.
The plans that we have put in place cover every eventuality that we have identified through our comprehensive
risk assessment process and protect all employees and our customers if a disaster does happen.
We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything
we do has been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and
charts, some through visual presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we
receive information in a format that works for us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of
communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters, videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for
us to share health and safety information, please let us know. Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we
will do all we can to keep you well informed!
