Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 300

300 Bulletin and a Safety Helmet Upgrade

                                      th
This bulletin marks the 300 to be issued since we began using this platform to raise safety awareness
and openly share information to encourage a proactive ‘no-blame’ culture.

We began to issue these bulletins in 2005 which initially detailed the thoughts, advice and concerns of
senior management within Xmo Strata. Over the years, they have grown to include contributions from
various customers, industry experts, employees and many more interested parties who are committed to
the same goal of making the workplace safer.

I would like to thank all of those who have contributed, and continue to contribute, to these bulletins.

Some people may view sharing company weaknesses as ‘bad for the brand’; however, we think the
opposite. If we share our experiences, and help others to learn from them through open and honest
reporting, we could potentially be preventing injury, or even fatality, elsewhere in the industry.

In my view, if safety concerns are proactively identified, reported, analysed, corrected and eliminated,
we are not only ensuring the safety of our employees and sub-contractors, we are helping to protect
everyone who comes into contact with our work.

           SAFETY HELMET MAKEOVER

I am pleased to use this 300 bulletin to share an initiative we have been developing within Xmo Strata
                                      th
to both enhance safety and ensure speedy assistance in the event of an emergency.

Over the next month we will be issuing new safety helmets with two distinct features:

               1) Reflective markings – to ensure a higher visibility level of workers in dark environments.

               2) An ICE (In Case of Emergency) tag – to detail personal ICE contacts, company details and
medical information to assist in the event of an incident where the wearer falls unconscious.
These are specifically designed to be compatible with application to safety helmets.

The new helmets have been specially designed to give 360 degrees of reflective coverage and carry
markings on the top to improve visibility to those working above.

The new style helmets will also carry the company’s logo and will be issued to all Xmo Strata
           employees.
