Banksman Do's and Don'ts
Please see enclosed self-explanatory bulletin issued by Artelia.
Whenever plant or vehicles are operating on site, a banksman must be used to
co-ordinate the operation. This includes the operation of MEWPs, HIAB's, delivery
vehicles or any other plant under our control. Always ensure you communicate with the
plant operator before the operation to agree positions and the hand signals used.
Risk management is a big step towards accident prevention; however, it is dependent on the risk firstly
being identified, then controlled. We need safety awareness to be instinctive and form an integral part
of both our working and home lives; it is this, in turn, that may save the lives of others. Remember: if
shared, risks can be mitigated before they pose a threat.
