Faulty Safety Glasses
Please see enclosed self-explanatory safety alert that has been shared by EDF Energy
and Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering.
Our PPE issuance records indicate that we have never issued this type of safety glasses,
but could each employee check any that they possess to ensure that these aren’t being
used in good faith, without our knowledge.
Please ensure that you always visually check all tools, plant, equipment and PPE before
you use it because even equipment designed to protect you can be faulty.
Risk management is a big step towards accident prevention; however, it is dependent on the risk firstly
being identified, then controlled. We need safety awareness to be instinctive and form an integral part
of both our working and home lives; it is this, in turn, that may save the lives of others. Remember: if
shared, risks can be mitigated before they pose a threat.
