Cut Face Injury
Please see enclosed safety alert regarding a cut to the face injury shared with us by CBRE.
This shows the importance of continuing to carry out LMRA throughout the day, not just as an exercise to
complete the clearance certificate. Events on site can change due to weather conditions, other people/vehicles
arriving on site, unexpected conditions inside/behind panels or a number of other reasons, it is important
therefore that you continue to be aware of your surroundings and assess them for hazards.
This incident also shows the need for safe vehicle loading. When loading a vehicle always ensure the load is
secure and stable. In 2013 the Highways Agency reported over 22,000 road impact incidents resulting in the
closure of a lane caused by objects falling from vehicles.
All vehicles have a maximum safe load, and it is illegal to drive a vehicle if it is overloaded. If you are unsure
about the loading of your vehicle contact your line manager who can arrange a weigh station test.
We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works for
us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
