Work at Height Safety Breach
Please see the attached safety bulletin kindly shared with us by Artelia.
In 2013/14, falls from height were the most common cause of fatalities in the UK workplace,
accounting for nearly three in ten (29%) fatal injuries to workers (RIDDOR), yet is appears that some
people still don’t see the risk.
When you are on site, you are representing our clients as well as Xmo Strata, both of whom have a duty
of care to you and a genuine interest in your safety and welfare.
This breach resulted in the individual and the company that he worked for being suspended from
working for the client, which will may have serious ramifications on his family and his colleagues.
Please ensure that you always adhere to your training and the Xmo Strata site rules, which incorporate
all our client’s requirements. If you are unclear on any of the rules, have any questions, or feel you
require additional training, please advise your line manager.
We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works for
us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
