Fractured Ankle Injury
Please see enclosed safety alert regarding a fractures ankle injury that was shared with us by JCI.
When parking vehicles it is important that you consider how safe it is to access/egress the vehicle. It is not
uncommon for sites to have potholes, damaged drain covers, loose kerbs, or other trip/slip hazards that can be
hazardous when stepping out of vehicles. When you arrive on site, carry out a brief assessment of the area you
are to park to ensure it is safe before parking the vehicle, and again before exiting the vehicle. If there are
slip/trip hazards, or you cannot see the surface due to puddles, park somewhere else.
Ensure that any potholes or damaged drains / kerbs that are causing trip hazards are reported so that they can be
repaired, potentially saving somebody from a serious injury. Trip hazards on site may seem like minor issues,
but they are one of the most common causes of accidents.
We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works for
us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
