Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 407

                                                    24 April 2014

                                              Road Traffic Accident

Please see enclosed a self-explanatory bulletin that was shared with us by ExxonMobil.

Driving is one of the most dangerous things we do, with a total of 195,723 casualties in the UK in
2012, and 1,754 people killed according to latest Department of Transport statistics.

We have a policy of training all crews on ROSPA eco friendly and defensive driving scheme in order
to ensure drivers are as well prepared for the hazards as possible, as well as having strict policies as to
maximum daily driving allowances. Our project management system will automatically warn if jobs
are being planned that would require excessive driving.

However, all this planning and training is only effective if you as a driver are alert and undistracted. If
you feel tired or drowsy, stop or let your colleague take over for a while. Never use a mobile phone or
other communication device whilst driving, and always be aware of the other vehicles around you –
           expect the unexpected!

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works
for us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
