Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 379

                                                  10 October 2013

                                                 Fall From Height

Please see enclosed a self-explanatory bulletin that was shared with us by Artelia.

This incident highlights the need to ensure everybody is aware and understands the rules and
requirements of the job, and that nobody is put under undue pressure to get the work done on time.
This not only applies to supervisors, but also to team leaders – ensure your mate knows the rules and
           understands them.

When signing in to the job and explaining and discussing the risks on site, both members of the team
should be present so that everybody is clear on the requirements, and emergency procedures.

Never cut corners to get the job done on time, if you feel you are being pressured to do something you
feel is unsafe, contact your line manager immediately.

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works
for us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
