Lessons to learn

               • All our teams attend IPAF Harness courses, but please think about others by
ensuring that any users of Safety Harnesses are properly trained in how to wear

                  and use a harness.
               • Test users in their first period on site about their knowledge on use and risks of

safety harnesses and take appropriate actions if needed. When in doubt, do not
allow them to continue using the harness until instruction is understood.
               • Use your inspections to specifically focus on the use of harnesses.

               • Our supervisors will provide a toolbox talk on “how to wear, use and inspect
                  safety harnesses”.

               • Make sure your harness is connected to a suitable anchor point.

               • Think about and discuss rescue possibilities during Last Minute Risk Assessment
preparation to increase the awareness of harness users, making sure there are
procedures in place should something go wrong.

                                     “Be aware and take care”

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works
for us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
