Electrical Contractor Fatality
At the Xmo Strata safety awareness day on 12 December, Ian Kidger, Safety Advisor

for Esso UK and Ireland kindly advised us of a fatality relating to an electrical contractor
in Egypt, along with the sequence of events that occurred.
Please see enclosed self explanatory ExxonMobil Safety Alert, relating to the tragic
incident discussed.
This bulletin will be reinforced by a discussion and toolbox talk delivered by your
supervisor.
Our individual safety is not solely in our hands, we have to rely on those around us to steer us away
from danger and warn us of potential hazards. We need safety awareness to be instinctive and form an
integral part of our working lives; it is this, in turn, that may save the lives of others.
