Health, Safety & Environmental Bulletin No 258

                                            M Mott – 04 August 2011

                                                 Manual Handling

Please see enclosed self explanatory HSE alert received from Gilbarco Veeder-Root.

Manual handling is a significant hazard to all signage crews, and although the risk is
controlled as much as is reasonably possible through design and processes, it can still be
a problem if correct lifting techniques are not used. It is therefore Xmo Strata policy
that all crews attend manual handling training and use mechanical aids or team lifting
           wherever possible.

If you experience any back pains or require further instruction or training in manual
           handling, contact your supervisor.

Risk management is a big step towards accident prevention; however, it is dependent on the risk firstly
being identified, then controlled. We need safety awareness to be instinctive and form an integral part
of both our working and home lives; it is this, in turn, that may save the lives of others. Remember: if
shared, risks can be mitigated before they pose a threat.

If you have any queries regarding the Safety Bulletin content or require further information please
contact any staff member of Xmo Strata Ltd.
