Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality Bulletin No 678

                                                    27 June 2019

                                      Contractor Safety Campaign 2019

Please see enclosed a safety poster that was shared with us by BP.

When carrying out routine tasks it is easy to become complacent to the risks and lose concentration on
the task, where you carry out the work on virtual autopilot, or “asleep at the wheel”.

When carrying out any task, no matter how familiar you are with it, regularly stop and re-evaluate what
you are doing, take a look around your work area and at the task you are doing, has anything changed,
have you everything in the right place, are you clear on the next steps?

We have been and will continue to train and encourage the use of LPSA’s throughout our organisation
because we believe this is the way to focus on the hazards at key stages throughout the job and
eliminate complacency and being asleep at the wheel.

We are all a product of learning. Every skill we have; everything we know; everything we believe and everything we do has
been learned throughout the course of our lives. Some of us learn best by studying graphs and charts, some through visual
presentations, and some by reading detailed text books. It is important that we receive information in a format that works for
us as individuals! That’s why at Xmo Strata we use a variety of communication platforms such as bulletins, newsletters,
videos etc. However, if you feel there is a better way for us to share health and safety information, please let us know.
Ultimately, your safety is in your hands – but we will do all we can to keep you well informed!
