MEWP Security

Please see enclosed a self-explanatory bulletin that was shared with us by Artelia.

MEWPs should always be secured when not in use and the key left with the site manager / attendant
(making a note of the person the key is given to on your paperwork).

It should be noted that we have had four potential incident reports where the MEWP on site have locks
that are so worn that they can be started without the use of a key. Check the lock is functional and
report it to your line manager immediately if the key/lock is not secure.
