Xmo Strata: LOTOLock Out Tag Out - Isolation of Energy Sources. Training Film From Xmo Strata
06 June 2012
Sign company Xmo Strata has launched the latest of its series of health and safety training films – this time on the topic of Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTOLock Out Tag Out - Isolation of Energy Sources.).
LOTOLock Out Tag Out - Isolation of Energy Sources. is a safety procedure used for ensuring that only authorised personnel have access to live energy source isolation switches, and is central to the company’s working procedures.
It was one of a number of topics suggested by employees at the December 2011 health and safety day and will join other health and safety films in the video vault section on the company’s website.
Xmo Strata specialises in sign installation and maintenance and its crews undertake comprehensive health and safety training in addition to the trade skills required to do their jobs.
Filming took place on a Shell fuel forecourt in February; Shell is an Xmo Strata customer and is very supportive of the company’s strong health and safety culture.
Amongst those there to participate in the filming were electrician Stuart Newton, a member of the group which suggested LOTOLock Out Tag Out - Isolation of Energy Sources. as a topic.
“We do work in a lot of places where a strong emphasis on health and safety is absolutely critical,” said Stuart. “Forecourts are a case in point – you have electrics, fuel vapours and flammable liquids exposed to everything the British weather can offer, plus moving traffic. Shell as a company is extremely conscious of safety and our own company has the same view.”
