These statistics show that stress is now the largest cause of work-related ill health, accounting for 40% of cases and 49% of days lost due to ill health.

As part of our stress management policy, in 2011 we started a confidential Employee Assistance Programme, available to all employees 24 hours a day to provide advice and / or counselling services on any matter (business or personal).

The assistance plan is aimed at helping anyone with any issues whatsoever that cause them stress or that they want to discuss with a qualified counsellor; contact details are documented in our H&S manual (section D10.1.1) and would remind all employees that it is available by way of this bulletinBulletins highlight issues that will be experienced throughout the industry, and prove a useful tool to encourage the raising of standards and awareness of health and safety issues industry wide..

We all have tough days from time to time and not everything that happens at work is necessarily easy to deal with.

When bad days spill over into stress it becomes dangerous, and since we are constantly trying to reduce workplace risk we set up this programme available to all employees to help, whether that be for work related issues, marital problems or personal issues.

The sole function of this helpline to help any Xmo Strata employee deal with stress and talk about it in a confidential way – that what it’s there for and that’s why we have invested in it for almost 7 years and plan to continue to do so as part of our employee health commitment.
