Workers down tools for a healthy chat
7 January 2008
Employees of sign installation and maintenance company Xmo Strata downed tools on December 14.
But the nationwide work stoppage took place with the consent and approval of the company’s customers, as employees from across the UK travelled to a hotel in Maidstone for an entire day devoted to health and safety.
Xmo Strata installs and maintains signs for major retailers and fuel forecourt operators and has built a strong health and safety ethos and the firm claims that its employees rank amongst the most highly qualified sign engineers in the UK.
Senior representatives of customer companies Coteba, BP Oil UK, The Global Alliance, and ExxonMobil also attended the session and helped to lead discussions.
Xmo Strata Managing Director Mr Steve Martin said: “Health and safety is obviously a critical issue on a fuel forecourt and we were delighted that this event was supported at a senior level by customers. We have held several of these events now and they are an integral part of a continuing company-wide drive to meet the highest health and safety standards.”
