Health & safety day 2012

On 10 January 2013, all Xmo Strata employees and approved subcontractors (as well as some of the company’s biggest customers) descended, once again, on the Hilton Hotel in Maidstone, Kent, to attend the eighth annual safety awareness day.

This year’s event included a safety performance review of 2012, as well as covering various subject matters under the theme of ‘Bad things happen when good people do nothing’. Topics and exercises included:

  • The Bystander Effect (or Genovese Syndrome) – perceptions of situations
  • How we prefer safety messages to be communicated
  • New tablet technology for crews
  • Occupational health
  • Job preparation – ‘Failing to prepare is preparing to fail’
  • 2012 Safety Recognition Awards
