Kate Parmentier, B.A. Hons, Tech. IOSHInstitute of Occupational Safety and Health.

Job title:

A day in the life of me:

I am personally involved in all commercial elements of our contracts, ensuring that my team costs projects in the most effective way. That means constantly challenging accepted norms and asking how we can do things better or add value to our customers. I have a structured meeting with each member of the commercial team every week, during which we plan resource, agree objectives, discuss progress, look at value creation and formally measure our performance against agreed Key Performance Indicators.

Before starting at Xmo Strata:

I studied Design Management at Farnham University and was fortunate enough to graduate with an Honours Degree; the disciplines I learnt equipped me with a lot of the tools I now use such as research and development, project management and team building.

The thing I most enjoy about my job:

I enjoy the challenge of learning new things. I find it rewarding to be able to say that I work with a Company that leads the industry in safe and good practice, and personally, to know that I have helped achieve that.

Training courses completed while at Xmo Strata:

IOSHInstitute of Occupational Safety and Health. Managing Safely, UKPIA (SPA), UKPIA refresher, Emergency First Aid, IIF, IIF Train The Trainer. I also achieved a credit in the NEBOSHNational Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health. General Certificate exam in July 2009.

Why I wanted to work for Xmo Strata:

I wanted to gain experience in a company that could allow me space to grow, and would pull as much as push.

What makes Xmo Strata different to the rest:

Most people say safety, but I would actually say that it’s achieving a high standard of compliance and understanding through open-minded, forward thinking, unwavering management.
